High River 2013
Upwards of 12,000 people displaced
High River 2013
In June 2013, the Highwood River crested its banks flooding the town of High River. Displacing upwards of 12,000 people. Burnaby USAR responded by sending a team to assist locals with clean up and recovery efforts.
Our team responded with tools for demolition and cooking appliances to help feed the displaced residents.
We assisted many people with striping the water soaked furnishings and drywall from their damaged homes. As well as recovering treasured mementos.
